FAMISUR | Who We Are
We are a non-profit association, made up entirely of family migrants and returning migrants from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. We aim to contribute to improving the socio-economic situation of our relatives abroad and at the same time, channeling the various development opportunities that migrants are building and can have major social, economic and cultural rights in our countries favorable . We have chosen our integration as a new reference MERCOSUR integration among us, because we believe that the new identity that has been developing here can be reinforced transnational identity, with which our countries migrants living abroad. We are confident that the vulnerability of the human rights of our family in the world has a close relationship with a number of economic, social and institutional effects that prevent full enjoyment of such rights. This stems from our migrant families a sense of insecurity and inferiority, so they are left to their individual or collective capacity of struggle for recognition and exercise of such rights. We therefore decided to join them from here, from their home countries, to influence the improvement of migratory policies of all countries involved. |

La Liga Global |
About Us Overview The Global League of Community Sustainers (“La Liga Global”) is a transnational network of migrants, remitters, their organizations and their allies, committed to using our collective voice and our economic power to build a better world for all where migration is a choice and not a necessity for economic survival. La Liga Global was launched in May 2008 at the Transnational Assembly of Remitters and Families in Mexico City, Mexico by Transnational Institute for Grassroots Research and Action (TIGRA). Learn more about the Mexico Assembly. Visit Multimedia for pictures from the event. We recognize that migrants and their families are sustainers of the global economy and in coming together as La Liga Global we can promote transnational humanity instead of corporate-driven globalization from above. Humanitarian Technology Webseminar Series | About the IEEE Humanitarian Technology Webinar Series
IEEE Humanitarian Technology Webinar Series are free and publicly offered on a global level. Although advancements in technology have transformed the very fabric of society, a growing gap exists between the 'haves' and 'have-nots' when it comes to basic services and the dignity of choice in livelihood opportunities to ensure basic needs are met. This is exemplified by the following dire facts: Half of humanity (over three billion people) are living on less than $2.50 per day A quarter of humanity (1.6 billion people) are living without electricity Yet, we are inspired by the many new technologies, innovative business models and social entrepreneurship movements from all around the world that focus on improving developing country situations. With this new free Webinar series, IEEE is creating a platform to leverage innovation by galvanizing mainstream engineering communities to focus on core critical needs of availability and affordability of water, energy, transportation and communication. |
